  1. I love this pattern, I have made it twice now. It is easy to follow, knits up quickly and is super adorable. Thank you for making this available. I love it so much I decided to review it on my youtube channel and blog to hopefully help spread the word for you. Can't wait to make the fox scarf next! 7. Should the plates be folded in HALF? Mine have garter ridges, yours look smoother.

    1. I made up a list of abbreviations from my other knitting books. If you would like I can make a list for you. the only think I am having trouble with is I am not sure what she means by knitting in rounds. they after round 69 it says to pause and stuff head and and body mostly full, but it doesn't say to close to do this.

  14. Aww thx Katie! Also wondering if I can knit flat? What I’m finding is knitting it flat is that the stitches are short of say in the first round 11 - k5, Kfb, twice then k9, kfb twice then k16 I have like 1 leftover totally 38 sts but no k16 to actually knit so is this because I’m knitting flat and not in the round?? I can’t knit in round I have nobody to teach me as I need to watch in person not on video I’m THAT student lol thx to anyone for help x

    1. I was wondering the same thing, would love to make him for my grand daughter, but not too good at knitting in the round.

    2. You absolutely can knit this flat. Just turn and purl all the even rows. You will have one long seam running down the dinosaur.

  15. Hello! I really like your dinosaur, it’s really cute! This is a really long comment, but I’d really appreciate you reading until the end. I would like to ask your permission to use a part of your pattern in the one I’m writing.

I’m making my own dinosaur pattern, it’s sort of a brachiosaurus with plates. I’ve tried to come up with my own pattern for the plates. The best I could come up with was a steady increase on both sides of the work and then a sloped bind off for a diamond shape, but I couldn’t figure out how to make it double sided. I was about to abandon the spikes, but I don’t think it’ll look as good without them.

When I saw your plates, they were exactly what I was trying to accomplish! I was so happy that I was able to add them to my toy.

This is the first pattern I’ve made and I don’t want to step on anyone’s toes. I don’t plan on profiting from this pattern. I’m not going to sell the product or ask for money for my pattern. I’d like to use your pattern for the plates, though. Would you mind if I used them, if I were to credit you in the pattern?

    1. Sure! I'm fine that. I'd appreciate you giving me credit in the pattern notes if you wouldn't mind. Good luck!

  16. Where would I find info on your abbreviations for knitting the dinosaur please Katie?

    ReplyDelete
  17. Hi how do I get your abbreviations

    ReplyDelete
  18. this is my first knitting pattern. Means picking up 10 stitches at the beginning, 10 stitches per needle or in total.

  19. How to adjust knitting spikes in the flat?

    ReplyDelete
  20. You just purl instead of knit.
